Thanks to hard work from Trivia Night Coordinator, Mary Liz Alexander, and many other Rotarians, the recently held Trivia Night was a great success with more than $3,000 raised for various Literacy related Rotary projects.

I would like to thank all the volunteers and community participants who came out last week to make the Lake Placid Rotary’s semi-annual Trivia Night its most successful event ever!  There were 155 people who played, on 20 different teams.   We raised over $3,700 which will support Literacy Volunteers of Essex and Franklin Counties, and literacy projects in local schools.

The WINNING TEAMS are:
  • 1st  Carpe Diem—Bronwyn Seal, Captain  (team Ray Agnew, Roger Catania, Linda Hager, Amy Spicer, Debbora Keeler, Bob LePak, Will Melvin)
  • 2nd Learned Lukers—Phil Newton
  • 3rd Literacy Bombers—Cheryl Shiller

Sean Donovan was the emcee as always, and he rocked the house.  Ray Agnew provided wonderful pre-event musical entertainment.  Other key volunteers were Carolyn Bordonaro, Tracey Coolidge, Susan Friedmann, Betsy Gengel, Tina Leonard, Ellie McAvoy, Joe McAvoy, Debbie McLean, Heather Perkins, Martha Spear and Ernie Stretton.

We know that the community has lots of choices for Trivia Nights and are very grateful that so many choose to support literacy projects through Lake Placid Rotary.  The club meets on Thursday mornings at 7:20 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott.  All are welcome.

Sincerely,

Mary Liz Alexander
