"Are the stars out tonight?" That's line one of a tune covered by many but the experience of getting "close up" looks and learning about our celestial neighbors makes us appreciate the dark skies of the Adirondacks. We were visited by Seth McGowan, President of the Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory in Tupper Lake. The Sky Center provides many opportunities for budding astronomers and anyone who's intrigued about the cosmos. The vision of the Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory is to inspire curiosity and provide perspective on our universe through wonder and enlightenment. Educational opportunities, a place for social gatherings and seeing the development of a full planetarium is what one will find at the Sky Center. Tupper Lake, being in the path of totality for the 2024 eclipse put the Sky Center on the map with NASA picking up the images as seen through the center's equipment.
