How great is it that a world-class venue is taking shape in Lake Placid.  James Lemons and John Donk, the directors of the Arts Center, provided a comprehensive update on their $33 million renovation project. The center, a community fixture since 1972, is undergoing significant upgrades to modernize its facilities across four key pillars: presenting arts, visual arts, arts education, and service to artists.  Key renovations include expansion, accessibility, theater upgrades and a new gallery, lobby, and other amenities.  Approximately $26 million of the $33 million goal has been raised, with significant support from government grants and foundations. The focus for the coming year is on securing the remaining $5.4 million from individual donors.  Construction is moving quickly, with demolition and abatement currently underway. The new season in the renovated space is expected to be announced in early 2027.  Please visit the Arts Centers website to stay up to date on construction progress and to consider donating to keeping the arts alive in Lake Placid.  http://lakeplacidarts.org
