Several Rotarians recently participated in Dr. Suess Day at the Lake Placid Elementary School.  Dr. Seuss Day is a celebration of the joy of reading organized by Reading Specialist Laura Coffin in order to kick off a month long program to encourage reading at LPES.  Sean Donovan, Debbie Erenstone, and Sibyl Quayle read to individual students, while Roger Catania and Randy Quayle had the opportunity to read to an entire class.  Debbie reported that she read to several students in Mr. Martin's class and had a great time! Pictured below is Roger reading to a 1st grade class and Sean reading with a 3rd grade student.

Everyone had a great time reading with the students.  Later in the day, after the Rotarians left, the entire school came together to celebrate reading.  Sarah Gavin from The Bookstore Plus came with The Cat In The Hat to help celebrate reading and challenged the students to read as many books as possible during the month of March.  Seen below is Sibyl Quayle reading with a 3rd grade student.
