Congratulations to Trey Mariano, recipient of the Kate Smith Award for 2026.  Our club presents this $1,000 award each year to an outstanding music student in their junior year at Lake Placid High School.  Trey's teacher, Taylor Prosper says: "Trey is a multi-faceted junior at Lake Placid High School. His achievements in music are supplemented by a high academic rigor as well as a multitude of athletic outlets (soccer, XC skiing, and track). His musical and theatrical pursuits provide a justified vehicle for receiving the Kate Smith Music Scholarship. Trey is a fixture in our department, thriving in all opportunities both curricular and extracurricular at Lake Placid High School. He is in jazz band, selecting vocal ensemble, choir, band, fall play, and spring musical. In addition to all of these, he regularly participates in our regional honors ensembles such as All-County, Area All-State, and NYSSMA solo festival. Trey's participation is worth recognition for sure, but his real contributions are in his character and social tact. He is a joy to our music program at Lake Placid, leading all levels of musicians around him. He is one of those soul-of-the-program students and we are all beneficiaries of it. We are honored to bestow the Kate Smith Music Scholarship to Trey Mariano."  Trey sang "Maria" from West Side Story at today's meeting https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OUhBOouSAa5Fs66RI1SZ_AmkUogMV5mT/view?usp=sharing
